Bespoke Media Walls

A media wall has to do several things at once: carry a television, often house a fire, hide a quantity of cabling and equipment, and still look calm when nothing is switched on.

We resolve those requirements into a single piece of furniture — panelling, recesses, shelving and closed storage in proportion with the room — and coordinate with electricians and fire installers so the services are ready before manufacture begins.

What the service includes

01

Proportion and setting out

Television height, fire position and recess sizes set out against the room so nothing looks stranded on the wall.

02

Concealed services

Cable routes, ventilation and equipment access planned in, with power and data positions issued to your electrician.

03

Storage and display

Closed cabinets for equipment and open shelving for the things you want to see, lit where appropriate.

04

Fire integration

Openings formed to the manufacturer's clearances for electric or gas fires, with the surround detailed as part of the furniture.

How the project runs

  1. 01

    Consultation

We visit the space or meet at the workshop, talk through how the room needs to work, and agree a realistic budget before any drawings are issued.

  2. 02

    Design

Measured drawings show exactly what is being built: cabinet sizes, storage layout, sightlines and how the furniture meets the building.

  3. 03

    Materials & Finishes

Timbers, paint colours, worktops and ironmongery are sampled and agreed, so nothing is decided from a photograph alone.

  4. 04

    Manufacture

Everything is built in our Derbyshire workshop by the people who will install it, which keeps the detailing and the quality consistent.

  5. 05

    Installation

We fit, scribe and adjust on site, protect the rest of the house while we work, and walk the finished furniture through with you.

Media Walls — common questions

Can you fit a media wall around an existing television?
We design the recess and surrounding cabinetry to the television you already own, taking exact dimensions during survey. Where you expect to upgrade in future, we can build in a degree of extra clearance and accessible cabling so a larger screen can go in later without remaking the surround, though very large size changes may still need some adjustment.
Do you install the fire and electrics?
The joinery, panelling and installation are ours; electrical and gas work is carried out by qualified trades, either ones you already have in place or specialists we coordinate with directly. We agree power, data and gas positions with them before manufacture begins, so the media wall or fire surround is built with the correct openings and clearances rather than adjusted after fitting.
