Bespoke TV Units in Leicester

A bespoke television unit gives a living room a focal point that has been designed for the specific wall, screen size and viewing distance in the room, rather than adapted from a standard freestanding cabinet. We begin with a measured survey of the wall and the room's dimensions, checking sightlines from the main seating position so the screen sits at a genuinely comfortable height and distance rather than one dictated by whatever unit happened to be available. Ceiling height, alcove positions and any chimney breast are all taken into account, since these frequently shape where a unit can sit and how wide it can run.

Leicester's living rooms range from compact front rooms in Victorian terraces, often with a chimney breast and alcoves either side, to wider open-plan spaces in newer builds and rear extensions. In a terraced alcove, a unit is generally scaled to the specific recess either side of the breast, while in an open-plan space a fuller media wall treatment, running floor to ceiling across a wider stretch of wall, often makes better use of the room. We design for the proportions the room actually offers rather than assuming one approach suits every property.

Cable management and equipment storage are resolved at the design stage, not left for the installation day. We plan routes for aerial, power and any additional AV cabling through the cabinetry, along with ventilated housings for a set-top box, games console or amplifier, so equipment stays accessible for everyday use without trailing cables being visible across the wall. Where a soundbar, additional speakers or a wall-mounted bracket are wanted, these are factored into the design from the outset so positions and clearances are agreed before manufacture.

Storage either side of or below the screen is planned around what actually needs to be kept in the room, from media and games to general living room storage such as throws, remote controls and board games. We talk through what the unit needs to hold before finalising shelf and drawer configuration, and consider how open shelving, closed cupboards and any display lighting should be balanced against the screen itself so the finished wall reads as one composition rather than a television with cabinetry added around it.
