Bespoke Media Wall in Solihull
The brief
The client wanted the television to sit within the room rather than dominate it. Our answer was a symmetrical, full-width installation combining fitted cabinetry, open display shelving, integrated lighting and a statement centre — one architectural feature rather than a set of separate pieces.
The design
At the centre is a book-matched marble panel surrounding the television, with a British Fires New Forest 1900 fireplace below it to anchor the composition. Cabinetry to either side carries illuminated open shelving and tall feature panels, each section set out from the centre line of the room. The complete installation spans approximately 5.58 metres.
Challenges
A wall of this width can easily read as a row of unrelated units, and the television, fireplace, lighting and power all had to be provided for behind the joinery before anything was fixed in place.
How we solved it
The cabinetry, lighting, fireplace and marble centrepiece were planned together from the outset, so electrical provision and lighting were built neatly into the joinery. Setting every section out from the centre of the room kept the elevation symmetrical across its full width.
The finished result
Illuminated shelving gives the wall depth and atmosphere, while the marble centrepiece gives the television a proper architectural setting. The finished installation feels substantial without overpowering the room — part media wall, part display furniture, part architecture.
